Does Washington State have a unified court system?
No. Washington trial courts are funded and administered locally by each county or city. With a few exceptions, even courts in the same county are separately administered. Superior courts and courts of limited jurisdiction act independently of each other and hear different types of cases.
A unified court system is one that is largely managed, in terms of personnel and policies, and funded by a state office.
