What happens if I fail to meet the 45 hours of required Continuing Judicial Education (CJE) credit for judges in my three-year reporting period?
General Rule (GR) 26(e) states:
"(e) Delinquency. Failure to comply with the requirements of this rule may be deemed a violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct that would subject a judicial officer to sanction by the Commission on Judicial Conduct."
Judicial officers will receive an annual progress report listing the CJE credits achieved. These annual reports will serve as an update and reminder to judicial officers. As required under GR 26(d), the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) will publish a report with the names of judicial officers who have not met the requirements of sections (a) and (b) of GR 26--the 45-hour requirement and the Judicial College requirement.
