What is the maximum overpayment amount the court can retain and remit to the local treasurer?
The maximum overpayment the court can retain is $10, per RCW 63.30.270 effective July 23, 2023. (Previously under statute RCW 63.29.130 effective July 22, 2007 through January 1, 2023.)
Courts can confirm what they have listed on their Court Profile Maintenance (CPFM) screen in the “Remit Overpayments of” field to see if any updates need made. The amount listed can be any amount up to $10.00.
