How should penalties imposed for Wildlife Reimbursement be entered into JIS?
The following fish and wildlife criminal charges all have mandatory penalty assessments that MUST be imposed upon conviction, in addition to or regardless of any other sentence, fine, or penalty imposed:
- RCW 77.15.130 (Taking Protected Fish/Wildlife)
- RCW 77.15.135 (Trafficking Species Threatened with Extinction)
- RCW 77.15.370 (Unlawful Recreational Fishing - 1st Degree)
- RCW 77.15.400 (Unlawful Hunting of Wild Birds)
- RCW 77.15.410 (Unlawful Hunting of Big Game)
- RCW 77.15.450 (Spotlighting Big Game)
The assessment may not be suspended, waived, modified or deferred in any respect. All mandatory penalty assessments must be submitted to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for deposit into the fish and wildlife enforcement reward account.
A cost fee code is available for entry into the Create A/R (CAR) screen to document these penalties. That code is WIL - Wildlife Reimbursement. Any money receipted and applied to this cost fee code will be directed to the fish and wildlife enforcement reward account.
