What is a variable and how is it different from a formula in BIT?
In a BIT query, formulas are calculations created to display data that is not retrieved by existing objects in the universe.
A variable is a formula saved with a name for future use. The advantage of creating a variable is the ability to reuse the formula without having to enter it each time. A variable is saved in a BIT document, therefore it can be used in any report run within that same BIT document.
