What’s Changing?
Beginning March 20, 2023 Pacific/Algona will no longer enter data into JIS. As a result of their merger with King County District Court (KCDC), Pacific/Algona will use KCDC’s eCourt System. Pacific/Algona data will flow into the Enterprise Data Repository (EDR) via the existing data exchange between eCourt and the EDR. JABS will retrieve data from the EDR to display a statewide view of case and person information.
Court Code
Pacific/Algona cases filed after March 20th will use court code “KCD”. Historic Pacific/Algona cases will retain the court code “PAC”.
Parking Tickets
Location for a parking case is not part of the EDR data standards. Location will be blank for Pacific/Algona cases filed after March 20th.
Since Pacific/Algona will stop using VRV, any VRV-only data elements, such as picture attachments, will no longer be applicable to its parking cases.
eTicket images for all KCD courts do not display in JABS.
Docket Entries
Docket entries from Pacific/Algona will display in JABS as they do for eCourt and JIS, in chronological order on the Docket tab for a given case. Docket entries that were created in JIS prior to the implementation of eCourt, will display in italic font.
Unmapped Reference Codes
After March 20th, you may notice some Pacifica/Algona source reference data that is not mapped to standard reference data in the EDR.
Data that comes from an EDR court which does not match a statewide data standard, will appear as a code in green text. For a description of these codes, please contact the originating court.
Plea/Sentence Tab
Pacific/Algona will use the same version of the Plea and Sentence (PLS) tab built for KCDC data.
Person Data
Pacific/Algona person records will be matched to JIS and Odyssey person records through the EDR Person Matching process.
In order to provide statewide case and referral history, person data from different case management systems is stored within the Enterprise Data Repository (EDR). A process called Person Matching evaluates the person data to determine new matches as well as maintain the person matches or associations created within a case management system. When a person match exists, the case, referral, and person data is consolidated for viewing in JABS.
Please note that some case and person data may take up to 24 hours to become available since the data is sent nightly to the EDR.
